Instructions
- Cook the Noodles π:
Start by cooking your chow mein noodles according to the package instructions. If youβre using fresh noodles, they usually take around 2-3 minutes. For dried noodles, bring a large pot of water to a boil, add the noodles, and cook for about 4-5 minutes. Once cooked, drain them and rinse under cold water to prevent them from sticking together. Set aside. - Prepare the Sauce πΆ:
In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sugar, and chicken broth. Mix well and set aside. This sauce will bring together all the ingredients for a delicious stir-fry. - Cook the Chicken π:
Heat a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Once hot, add the sliced chicken to the pan. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside. - Stir-Fry the Vegetables π₯:
In the same pan, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the onion, bell pepper, cabbage, carrots, garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for about 3-5 minutes, until the vegetables are tender yet still crisp. - Combine the Chicken, Noodles, and Sauce π:
Add the cooked chicken back into the pan along with the cooked noodles. Pour in the prepared stir-fry sauce. Toss everything together, ensuring the noodles and chicken are evenly coated with the sauce. Stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through and well-mixed. - Serve and Garnish π:
Remove the pan from the heat. Serve the Chicken Chow Mein immediately, garnished with chopped green onions or sesame seeds if desired. Enjoy your homemade stir-fry!
